Previously Professor Belloni held teaching and research positions at Denver University, Harvard, Queens Belfast and Johns Hopkins Bologna. His research concerns various aspects of peacebuilding in post-settlement societies, with a particular focus on the role of civil society in the transition from war to peace. His last book is The Rise and Fall of Peacebuilding in the Balkans (2020).

Professor of political science at Portland State University 

Visiting period: October 23 - October 30

Melody E. Valdini is a professor of political science at Portland State University and co-editor of the Journal of Women, Politics & Policy. She was recently selected as a Fulbright-Schuman Distinguished Scholar, and is thus spending 2023/24 at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. Her research focuses on the consequences of institutional design, with a particular focus on electoral systems, political parties, and women's leadership.
