The Department of Government in collaboration with the Department of Peace and Conflict, and support from Uppsala Forum on Democracy, Peace, and Justice is organising its biannual Development Studies Day on “Methods and Ethics in Development Studies Research”.

Professor Isabell Schierenbeck will present and discuss her latest co-authored book ‘Safer Field Research in the Social Sciences: A Guide to Human and Digital Security in Hostile Environments’. The SAFER (Safer Research) project is exploring the challenges and risks of social science fieldwork. The project is drawing on the contributors’ diverse experiences of academic research, conflict journalism and digital security. The forthcoming book shares best practices for conducting research in hostile environments and pragmatic advice to help researchers, supervisors and doctoral students make good decisions.

Researchers and doctoral students interested in development studies are welcome to participate, and should register sending an email to Camille.pellerin@statsvet.uu.se

Evenemanget hålls på engelska.
